Meet the Management Team

Carers at Home Ltd is an independent care agency managed by husband and wife team Sam and Katie together with Sam’s mother Lilly. The business was originally co-founded in 2007 by Lilly and is very much a family business.

Our three Directors and co-owners each bring a different set of skills and work together in the business on a day to day basis.

Being close to our clients and carers gives us instant feedback allowing us to constantly improve the level of care we offer. We believe this is the best way to run a care agency.

How long you have you been part of the Carers at Home team?

Carers at home  was set up in 2007 and as one of the business founders I’ve been here from the very beginning!

Where were you before you joined the team?

I became a State Registered Nurse in 1977 and began working with the elderly in Nursing Homes in 1980. I started working in domiciliary care in 2002.

What attracted you to Carers at Home?

We founded Carers at Home because we wanted to offer a better level of compassionate care than many other agencies were offering at the time.

What you like to do in your spare time?

I love spending time in my garden and going on long country walks… especially with my six grandchildren (although not at the same time!). I also love to go travelling when the opportunity arises.

Prior to joining the team Sam spent 15 years working in London as a Chartered Surveyor running large projects for financial institutions.

What attracted you to Carers at Home?

Since two of my closest family worked for the business it was a very natural fit! I also felt I could bring new ideas and energy to the business to help build on the excellent reputation the team have gained over the last 14 years.

What you like to do in your spare time?

I have three young children which gives me very little spare time! When I’m able I enjoy getting a run out for Guildford Rugby Club Veterans. I enjoy spending time on long walks. I also enjoy travelling and trying food and wine from all around the World.

Prior to joining the team I spent 15 years in Human resources for banks and in the airline industry predominantly in London with a few short stints in Brisbane.

What attracted you to Carers at Home?

After volunteering during the Covid pandemic I was amazed at the passion and dedication that all of the staff had to deliver the best possible care to all of the clients. This passion rubbed off on me and I was driven to a career change!

What you like to do in your spare time?

I am currently studying for my level 5 Care certificate. That along with 3 children and husband pretty much fills my diary. I do like to fit in the odd Yoga session and trip to the gym when time permits

I Worked in various finance roles. Most recently at the Workstation store in Godalming High Street.

What attracted you to Carers at Home?

The company accountant recommended the Carers at Home to me. When I met them, they seemed like a nice company to work for, and I am still here 10 years later! I also like the fact that the business was helping to enable people to live independent lives at home. I had never worked in that environment before, and it gives me a lot of job satisfaction as previous businesses I had worked for were sales-lead.

I enjoy walking, travelling, and spending time with my family.
